Getting started
Make an account and start adding your home right away. There is nothing to schedule and nobody to wait for. Photograph the label on your water heater or furnace, and Higgins reads the brand, model and age off it.
No. Start with one appliance or one room and pick up where you left off whenever you like. Ten minutes gets you a useful record, and it grows as you add to it.
Yes. When it's time to photograph labels, scan a QR code or have a link texted to you and carry on with your phone. You can also keep going on your computer and upload photos and documents from there.
Try again with a little more light and less glare. If it still won't read, you can type the details in, ask Higgins for help, or save the photo and move on.
What Higgins does
It answers from your own record rather than the internet: what you own, how old it is, and what's coming up. It flags safety recalls, tells you when a filter is due, and pulls together what a pro needs to know. If your record doesn't say, it tells you so instead of guessing.
It can't spend your money. Anything that costs something, like a repair or an order, is a decision you make yourself, on your own screen.
Every model Higgins reads is checked against recalls published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. If one applies, it goes to the top of your feed with the steps and the free fix. Recall alerts are always on, and a unit nobody has checked is never called clear.
They're worked out from the equipment you've actually photographed and how old it is, not from a generic checklist. They're estimates, not quotes, meant to help you plan, and nothing is booked.
Cost
Higgins is free to use. Making an account, keeping your record and getting recall alerts cost nothing. Supplies are the only thing you pay for.
You pay for what you order through Higgins, like filters, and nothing else. Nothing is charged without your approval.
No. There is no membership and no fee to see your own home's record.
Your record and privacy
Yours, and the house's. You decide who else can see it, and you can export a copy whenever you like.
Only the people you choose. When you invite someone, you pick one of three choices: See everything, See and add, or Everything you can, which includes payments and inviting others. Sharing with a pro is read only and ends after 7 days, 30 days, or when you stop it.
The history can go with the house, to the next owner or to family, so they start out knowing what's there. You can keep a copy of the record for yourself.
Stop whenever you like. The record is yours and it doesn't go anywhere.
Pros and contractors
Good. Keep them. Share the part of your record that concerns them, read only and for as long as you choose, so they show up already knowing the history.
Only when you book a pro. Setting up and keeping your record happens on your phone, and Higgins works from what you put in it.
Yes. Book one of our vetted home service pros from the app, or share your record with your own contractor. You choose who to hire, and you approve every charge.
Where we work
Everywhere in the US. Nothing about your record or Higgins depends on where your house is.
